Can I speak with a District Attorney before the court appearance on my citation?: No. The District Attorney’s Office does not have copies of citations, reports or driving records until after you enter your not guilty plea. Your DA Pre-Trial conference is your opportunity to speak with a District Attorney regarding your case.

1. Am I required to appear in court?: Check your citation. If the box is marked YES indicating that your appearance is required or mandatory, you MUST appear in court. Failure to do so may result in a warrant for your arrest.

2. Does the Kenosha District Attorney's Office have a deferred judgment program for traffic citations?: No.

3. How do I reschedule the court date on my ticket?: Contact the Kenosha County Clerk of Circuit Court PRIOR to the court date at 262-653-2664.

4. How do I reschedule my District Attorney Pre-Trial Conference (DA Pre-Trial)?: Contact the District Attorney’s Office at 262-653-2400 or you may email Karolyn Koehne, Paralegal, PRIOR to the court date.

5. What happens if I miss my DA Pre-Trial Conference?: If you do not appear at your DA Pre-Trial, the court will be notified and your case will be set for a Default Hearing. The court will send you notice of the Default Hearing. If you do not attend the Default Hearing, you will be found guilty in absentia and you will be required to pay the fine on your citation.
