Free admission days at a variety of entertainment events are available for active military, drilling reservists, veterans and their families.
Except for the Milwaukee County Zoo, the active military/veteran must present a military/VA patient ID card; an American Legion, VFV, AMVETS, etc., membership card; DD Form 214 or NGB Form 22. The zoo event requires tickets, which are available at the Kenosha County Veterans Services Office, please see details below for each event.
Upcoming free events include:
Memorial Day through Labor Day, Milwaukee Art Museum — Free admission to active military/veterans plus as many as five family members.
June 16-18, Polish Fest — Free admission to active military/veterans. Free admission applies to active military/veterans only.
June 28-July 9, Summerfest — Summerfest will again offer eight free tickets to Purple Heart Pass holders. The pass also entitles holders to admission to other attractions across the state. All Wisconsin residents who received the Purple Heart decoration are eligible to apply for a Purple Heart Pass through the Milwaukee County Veterans Service Office. July 2, Milwaukee County Zoo — Free admission/parking to active military/veterans plus as many as nine family members (spouse/significant other, dependent children, grandchildren). Tickets must be picked up from the veterans service office in the veteran’s county of residence through June 30.
July 28, German Fest — Free admission for active military/veterans and their immediate family members.
Aug. 13, Wisconsin State Fair — Free admission to active military/veterans plus as many as three family members.
Aug. 20, Irish Fest — Free admission to active military/veterans plus one family member.
Sept. 10, Indian Summer Festival — Free admission to active military/veterans. Free admission applies to active military/veteran only.
Free Milwaukee Brewers tickets — Military veterans can receive up to two free tickets to every regular season Milwaukee Brewers Sunday home game in 2017 by showing their military ID, Veterans Affairs ID or DD-214. To receive your tickets, go to the ticket window (under the clock tower) two hours before game time or call 414-902-4000.
