[ARCHIVED] Block-by-block COVID-19 vaccination missions continue

Kenosha County Public Health workers and volunteers on mobile vaccine mission

Kenosha County Public Health is continuing its weekly, block-by-block COVID-19 vaccination mission this week, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.

During that time, public health staff and community volunteers will be walking the area bounded by 65th Street, 20th Avenue, 67th Street and 21st Avenue.

They will be offering doses of all three of the COVID-19 vaccine varieties, as well as information about them.

People who receive their first or second dose will receive a $50 Visa gift card. Booster shots of the Pfizer vaccine are also available for those now recommended to receive them.

No ID is required to be vaccinated, although parental permission is needed for those under 18. (Pfizer, authorized for people ages 12 and up, is currently the only vaccine available to those under 18.)

This effort is being conducted in a collaboration between Kenosha County Public Health and the Health Equity Task Force, a group of community leaders who are partnering with the county in an effort to create more equitable access to COVID-19 vaccination for communities of color. Ardis Mahone-Mosley, a member of the task force, has helped to coordinate the walking events, recruiting neighborhood residents to serve as volunteer block captains.

More information about COVID-19 in Kenosha County, including local statistics and a listing of area vaccine providers, is available at https://www.kenoshacounty.org/covid-19.
