Over the past week from March 30th, 2021 through April 4th, 2021 Kenosha County Deputies and Detectives have responded to six overdose calls for service in Kenosha County.

Upon the arrival of deputies, the individuals in these cases were not conscious or breathing and were revived with “Narcan” which is a narcotic antagonist used to counteract the effects of opioids.  After further investigation, some of the subjects that were revived reported that they had consumed Xanax bars and Oxycodone pills.

Due to the large number of overdoses, Sheriff Beth would like to remind the public that taking medication that is not prescribed by your physician is extremely dangerous and illegal.  The Kenosha Drug Operations Group (KDOG) is currently investigating these overdoses.  Anyone with information regarding these overdose cases is encouraged to contact the Kenosha County Sheriff “KDOG” unit at 262-605-7930, or anonymously to the Kenosha County Crime Stoppers at 262-656-7333.

Please utilize medication drop-off sites and services whenever possible to properly expose of unused/expired/unwanted medications.
