At 1048 this morning Kenosha County Deputy Sheriffs responded with Salem Fire and Rescue to a fatal rollover car crash in the 9400 block of Camp Lake Road in the Town of Salem.
A green 1999 Ford Explorer driven by Gunnar Ahlstrand (81 years old, Trevor resident) was southbound on Camp Lake Road in the 9400 block. The vehicle left the roadway when it failed to negotiate a slight curve in the road. The vehicle struck a culvert and overturned. Ahlstrand was ejected and severely injured. He was later pronounced dead at St. Catherine’s Hospital. There is no obvious cause of the crash. Speed is not believed to be a factor. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
