Public Transportation

Western Transit provides a bus service connecting rural Kenosha County to Kenosha, Lake Geneva, and Antioch, Illinois. Connect to Kenosha Area Transit at Southport Plaza to further your travels!

A free, same-day transfer for use on the Kenosha Area Transit buses is available upon request.

Expanded Services

Kenosha County’s Western Transit service has Saturday demand service from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. 

Western Transit is available to the public with a service area concentrated in Kenosha County, west of I-94.  Fares are $5/one-way for the general public and $3/one-way for older adults and persons with disabilities.  This service is provided by Kenosha Achievement Center in partnership with Kenosha County.

Door-to-door service is offered on a space available basis west of I-94 within Kenosha County and to the following locations:

Hours of service are Monday - Friday, 6 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Please have exact payment. Drivers cannot make change.

To qualify for reduced fare, please complete and submit this form, including proper identification.

Special value punch cards are available. Purchase a $20 punch card and receive up to $25 in value. Sold by transit drivers. Cash or check only please.

Service is not available on the following holidays:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

Passenger Assistance

All vehicles are equipped with lifts and wheelchair tie-downs. Drivers will assist with boarding and disembarking if requested. Drivers are not required to carry packages. Please limit packages to no more than 40 pounds to ensure room for other riders.
