The Kenosha County Prairie & Arboretum line the one-mile walking trail loop in the prairie area just north of the County Center building. Open to the public, it is most easily accessed from the northeast corner of the parking lot on the west side of the building.
Visitors to the arboretum can take a guided tour via the brochure available in the Extension Office at the County Center or by download here. The trees are also marked with placards that include a QR code, linking smartphone users to more information about them on the Extension website. For a list of tree species, click here.
The Kenosha County Center Prairie was established in 2016 and the Arboretum was established in 2020. Restoration of the tall-grass prairie provides a safe habitat for local bird and insect species while providing a recreational and educational environment for the Kenosha County community.
