Welcome to the Kenosha Sheriff's Department

The School Resource officer programs began in the 1999-2000 school year. The current Deputies assigned are Deputy Krenz at Westosha Central High School and Deputy Zoerner at Wilmot Union High School.

The Deputies begin as School Resource Officers by attending a 40 hour basic training offered by NASRO (National Association of School Resource Officers). After the training the deputies are assigned at the schools. They have offices in the school and report there daily. There duties consist of assisting school administration in handling student issues, teaching various classes involving problem solving and law enforcement issues, and handling school problems which would normally require a deputy to respond.

The response to the program has been excellent from students, school staff and parents.
