Healthy People Kenosha County 2020

Healthy People Kenosha County 2020 is a local initiative that partners public health with community representatives from government, public, private, and non-profit businesses and organizations for the purpose of developing a public health strategic plan for Kenosha County. The overarching goals of the strategic plan are consistent with the national initiative Healthy People 2020, and the State of Wisconsin initiative Healthiest Wisconsin -- to increase quality and years of life and eliminate health disparities. Healthy People Kenosha County 2020 is comprised of six committees that were developed to address the overarching goals in specific areas of concern: Access to Healthcare, Youth Health, Healthy Lifestyles, Mental Health, Injury Prevention, and Environmental Health. The Healthy People Kenosha County 2001-2010 Report provides an overview of the progress of Healthy People Kenosha County 2010 in the last 10 years. The Kenosha County Division of Health is grateful for the commitment of the numerous committee members that are involved in this valuable community initiative.

 

Kenosha County Community Health Assessment

In 2008, the Kenosha County Division of Health, Aurora Health Care, the Center for Urban Population Health Research, and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin collaborated to conduct a community health survey of Kenosha County residents.  The Health Department will conduct the survey every five (5) years as statutorily required for local public health departments.  The purpose of the survey is to:

Kenosha County Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP)

The Kenosha County Division of Health is pleased to present the Healthy People Kenosha County (HPKC) 2020 Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) to county residents, community organizations and civic groups. The mission of HPKC 2020 is to mobilize community resources to address and improve locally identified health priorities.

2011 County Health Rankings Released

Kenosha County ranked 61st out of 72 counties in Health Outcomes and 57th in Health Factors, according to the new County Health Rankings report released March 30, 2011 by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The Rankings have ranked the health of Wisconsin counties annually since 2003.
