A Message from Kenosha County Executive Jim Kreuser

Dear Kenosha County Residents,

Our County has already received millions of dollars through The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), also known as the “federal stimulus.”  In order to stay abreast of ARRA developments and requirements, a Recovery Act Team was formed in April.  This team consists of representatives from all of the County departments and is tasked with identifying further funding opportunities for Kenosha County.

A portion of the spending authorized by ARRA is passed directly to Wisconsin and then distributed to local governments through formula allocations. Other funds in ARRA are allocated through competitive grants.  Because communities across the nation are all seeking stimulus dollars to fund important projects, there will inevitably be more applications for money than funds available.  While Kenosha County will continue to apply for competitive grants, it is difficult to predict how much stimulus money we will ultimately receive.

This website provides information about how money is being spent in Kenosha County as stimulus funds are awarded. To learn more about ARRA progress and opportunities, I encourage you to visit the links throughout this page.

Sincerely,

Jim Kreuser
