Kenosha County Surveyor

Kenosha County has a contracted County Surveyor. On January 20, 2016, Mr. Robert W. Merry, P.L.S. of the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission was appointed the duties and succeeded Dr. Kurt Bauer as County Surveyor.
The duties of the County Surveyor are:
  • To maintain the County monument system by inspection and possible replacement of section corner(s).
  • To correlate the corners to the vertical and horizontal grid system known as the Control Survey Summary Diagram.
  • To revise section corner dossier sheets which identify "ties", or locations of other physical or manmade features in relationship to the section corner. Section corners form the basis for surveying and surveying accuracy. The section corners of Kenosha County are based on the North American Datum of 1927.
The County Surveyor does not perform individual surveys within Kenosha County.
